What is digital scrapbooking and how can I learn more about it?
Digital scrapbooking is a way of documenting your memories and life much the same way traditional scrapbooking is. However, there isn't any mess to clean up at the end. There are many programs that you can use for digital scrapbooking such as Adobe Photoshop Elements, Adobe Photoshop, Jasc Paint Shop Pro, Microsoft Digital Image Pro, Ulead Photo Impact and many others. Since most people take their photos with a digital camera and download them onto their computers, it’s very easy to take the next step and turn them into scrapbook pages. Check out our videos on how to use our various digital products.
How do I locate digital files that I downloaded on my PC or Mac?
Most internet browsers will ask you where you would like to save the files when you start the download. It’s easier to find things later if you create a special folder on your computer to save all your digital scrapbooking kits and files. Just select this folder when you download.
However, if you have already downloaded files and did not specify a location or folder on your computer, here are some tips to help you find your files:
If you’re using Windows, please visit the following webpage: Find a File You’ve Downloaded
If you’re using Mac OS 10.4 or below, all files downloaded from an internet browser are saved to your desktop.
If you’re using Mac OS 10.5 or above, all files downloaded from an internet browser are saved in your downloads folder in your dock, or the following location users/YOURUSERNAME/Downloads/
How do I open .zip files on my PC or Mac?
The most common way to open Zip files is to use one of the following free programs.
On a PC: WinZip
On a Mac: StuffIt Expander
Are all digital papers and elements high resolution?
Yes. All of our digital products are high resolution and designed to be printed at 300ppi.
How many times can I use a digital paper or element?
You can use it as many times as you want. There is no limit.
How do I change the desktop wallpaper on my computer?
Please refer to the following links for instructions: Windows XP | Windows Vista | Windows 7 | Mac OS 10
How do I print my digital layouts and cards?
You can print your layouts and cards at home, although you will need a wide format printer to print 12x12 layouts. Lots of digital scrapbookers print their 12x12 layouts as 8x8 to save on the cost of paper. Also, most printers that print photos can print cards, and possibly layouts, too. Check with your local photo printer to see if they can print 12x12. Some printers will print a 12x18 sheet. This allows you to set up a file that has a 12x12 layout, plus two smaller 6x6 layouts.
There are also several online print companies that can print 12x12 layouts. To find online printers, run an internet search on “printing 12x12 scrapbook pages.”
When is my credit card charged?
At the time that the order is placed.
What is the return policy for downloaded items?
BasicGrey® does not accept returns on downloadable products. If you are having trouble using or downloading a product, Please contact a Customer Services Specialist by calling (801)544-1116 or by email at downloads@basicgrey.com for assistance.
